I had a fantastic opportunity to meet three Veterans today at the Canaveral Hospital. This was my last, we'll call him Joseph.. he was a Nam Veteran that served during the Tet Offensive and was looking kind of down today so he got "Ducked" with a Veteran Duck , a Veteran Pin, and a firm handshake.
Unfortunately I did not have my coins with me this visit, but alas he said it made his day, thanked me for my service, dropped a tear, and began to tell some stories that apparently was on his mind and felt like airing.
I was more than happy to lend an ear.. What a great feeling to be able to recognize, appreciate and honor his service while he can still enjoy it.
